“Sounds Interesting” they said when asked to play at a wedding…
and life as a quartet took off.

The Sounds Interesting Quartet is comprised of Derek & Merri Williams, Anne Tupling and Rachael Calverley.
They are all classically trained musicians.
Derek conducts the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra and Nottingham Youth Orchestra and also teaches the violin at Nottingham High School.
Anne gained her first music degree at Nottingham University and her second at London University.
Merri teaches the viola and leads the viola section in the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra.
Rachael is a graduate of The Royal College of Music and is a  freelance professional ‘cellist and teacher.

Sounds Interesting has an outstanding record of providing musical entertainment.
All professional musicians, the players have many years of experience of playing in orchestras, ensembles and string quartets.

With their light-hearted and versatile programmes the group has delighted audiences everywhere. Performing for any special occasion that calls for an extra touch of quality they bring you background music or a light-hearted and entertaining concert.
